About Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is one of the most distinctive parks in northern Tanzania. It is named after the Tarangire River, a key source of water for wildlife in the area. Early Morning: Departure from Arusha

Meet your professional safari driver-guide and begin the journey towards Tarangire National Park. The drive usually takes around two to three hours, depending on your hotel location, road conditions and park gate procedures.

The route passes through Arusha’s outskirts, small towns, farms and Maasai areas. Along the way, your guide will explain the landscape, local communities and the safari plan for the day.

You can enjoy the changing scenery as the road leads towards the Great Rift Valley region and the Tarangire area.

Morning: Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

After arriving at the park gate, complete entry procedures and begin your game drive.

Tarangire is best explored slowly. Your guide will follow safari tracks through the park’s woodland, grasslands and river areas, looking for wildlife while explaining animal behaviour and the park’s ecosystem.

The Tarangire River is one of the most important areas in the park. During dry months, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest and antelopes may gather near the water. Predators may also be nearby because of the concentration of prey animals.
